Bend Comes in Second for Fastest Growing City in America

In a report from WalletHub, Bend was named the nation’s second fastest growing city overall and the fastest growing in the midsize city category. This determination is based upon a city’s sociodemographic and job/economy status.

A variety of factors contributed to Bend’s ranking as number two fastest growing city, but chief among them are job growth and new businesses. While the report suggests a staggering amount of growth, it is based on data from 2013-2019 and does not account for economic changes resulting from COVID-19. 

A recent report from Beacon Appraisal Group lists the median home price in Bend as $547,000, up $17,000 from last month.
