Bend Comes in Second for Fastest Growing City in America

In a report from WalletHub, Bend was named the nation’s second fastest growing city overall and the fastest growing in the midsize city category. This determination is based upon a city’s sociodemographic and job/economy status.

A variety of factors contributed to Bend’s ranking as number two fastest growing city, but chief among them are job growth and new businesses. While the report suggests a staggering amount of growth, it is based on data from 2013-2019 and does not account for economic changes resulting from COVID-19.

A recent report from Beacon Appraisal Group lists the median home price in Bend as $547,000, up $17,000 from last month.

All of this suggests that things are changing. How does this affect you?

Is it time for a change or time to sit tight?

More people than ever are looking at Bend as a place to call home and with that we are seeing an influx of retirees, folks telecommuting, and even developers.

New opportunities may be coming your way, or you may just have to deal with more congestion and people than you’re used to.
