It’s important to know what home you’d like when you start searching for one, but what if you can’t quite figure out how to find that perfect one you’ve been envisioning? Here are some of the most important questions to be asking yourself to help make the search as smooth as possible on buying the home you’ve been dreaming of.

1. Are you pre-approved?

Being pre-approved should be your very first step in the home buying process. Call a lending office today and see what they can do for you.

2. What’s your price range?

Decide on a realistic price range that you’d be happy and comfortable with. You can always do extra renovations to the parts you don’t like all that much.

3. Easy access to main roads and highways?

This may not be a problem if you like longer drives to work and taking the kids to school, but the convenience of living closer to the access of main roads is always nice. Think of grocery shopping, gas stations and all of your errand running. You may want to live somewhere where that is all easily accessible.

4. One-story or two-story?

How important is it to you to have another level in the home? You most likely will find both with any price range you’re looking in, and having the choice is nice.

5. Suburban, urban, or rural?

Since you started thinking of buying a new home, you’ve most likely already made this decision in your head. But make sure you’re looking in the right areas of town. Buying a house is a big decision, make sure you’re getting all that you want out of it.
