Once you have become a Crosswater Club Member, you will have access to sixty-six holes of golf. Included in these is the Robert E. Cupp 18 hole course, the Robert Trent Jones Jr designed Sunriver Woodlands, the John Fought redesigned Sunriver Meadows, the Robert E Cupp and Jim Ramsey designed Caldera Springs’ Links 9 hole course, and a 3 hole practice facility.
The courses cross the Little Deschutes River a total of seven times. Each hole has five tees to challenge golfers of different levels. The Crosswater Clubhouse includes The Grille restaurant and lounge, a golf shop, The Turn snack bar, day locker facilities, and a Resident Member Club including locker rooms. If your main hobby is golf, this area is a pristine location to live.
On days that you choose not to enjoy the golf courses provided, you have many more options on places to visit close by. There are tennis courts, parks, swimming pools, marinas, stables, and a nature center available close by for recreation and entertainment. The Oregon Observatory at Sunriver can cure your itch to do some star watching.
There is also Mt. Bachelor ski area within twenty to thirty minutes of the Crosswater area that is a great destination in the winter. The Recreation Department includes the Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic and Recreation Center. The facility is open to the public and has wonderful activities including indoor and outdoor swimming areas, a child’s pool and sand play area, a tubing hill, park, basketball courts, rock climbing wall, café, and an outdoor amphitheater.
The Sunriver area is home of top-rated public and private schools. The schools fall into the Bend La-Pine Schools District which is made up of twenty-eight schools that serves over 16,000 students. Awards the district has won are the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from both the Government Finance Officers Association and the Association of School Business Officials.
Three schools primarily serve the area. Three Rivers School covers elementary and middle school students while Bend High School and Summit High School served the young adults of the community.
Ten private schools are in the area including Morning Star Christian School, Trinity Lutheran School, Bend Montessori School, Cascades Academy of Central Oregon, Seven Peaks Elementary School, J Bar J Boys Ranch, New Leaf Academy, Sagewalk the Outdoor School, St. Francis of Assisi School, and the Three Sisters Seventh-day Adventist School. Seven Colleges and Universities are available for those looking to continue their education as well.
