Northwest Crossing is one of the most eclectic neighborhoods in the city of Bend, Oregon. For instance, it is in an urban setting with the feeling of a small town. One of the things that make it unique is the variety of cottages; most of them built back in the 19th and 20th centuries. these cottages give the neighborhood a feeling of quaintness, similar to a trip to a different time. They add both charm and style to the neighborhood and are also quite affordable.

If one wants a culinary experience, there’s a wide variety of foods to choose from such as fresh seafood, straight from the Pacific. This neighborhood has a focus on being green, more so than any other. The abundance of trees exemplifies this. From junipers to oaks and pines, each tree corresponds to a certain area in Northwest Crossing. The variety of home styles also speaks volumes of the colorfulness of the neighborhood. Ranging from Tudor to Colonial and Prairie, as well as Ranch style homes. Some of these homes were built using the wood products available, of which there are plenty to choose.

It features trails and play areas; all in its original circular shape. There’s also Lewis & Clark Park, which defines the Northwest area of the neighborhood and Rim Rock and Sunset View Parks, alongside Skyliners Road on the south side, where great views await!

Good times are easily found, such as the Jazz Appreciation Month and the Spring Festival, both taking place in April. There are also various free music concerts throughout the year, as well as the annual Holiday Festival, taking place during the holiday season.

Schools

Education is key. There’s High Lakes Elementary for the little ones and also Central Oregon Community college, a place of higher education that helps ensure that the jobs stay in the Bend area. More than half the population of Northwest Crossing has a bachelor’s degree or higher, making it one of the most educated regions in the country.
